Head Stock and Tail Stock Setup
Cu-Built Head Stock and Tail Stock Setup (Flange Welding Set Up) is specially designed for position welding of various jobs. The machine has two units, one is Head Stock and the other is Tail Stock.
Head Stock and Tail Stock Setup is mainly used for holding the Jobs from both ends and rotating it or Indexing it for getting any position. It can be used for Pipe to Flange, Welding, Pipe to Bush Welding, and Pipe to Pipe Welding applications as well. Head Stock and Tail Stock Setup have been specially designed to meet modern welding requirements and incorporate features essential for efficient and economic welding production The job is continuously rotated at a pre-selected speed so that the quantity and quality weld can be made on the circumference.
Single Axis Manipulators
Head Stock
This is the powered unit that rotates the job. This unit can be fixed on the base. The prime mover is an A. C. Motor or Servo Motor and there in the speed reduction is obtained by Worm Gearbox and Spur Gear – Pinion arrangement.
Tail Stock
This is the non-powered unit that supports the other end of the pipe. This unit can be moved to & fro to suit the Job length. The movement is motorized through a Leadscrew & Nut arrangement. This unit is placed on a machined base so that it slides for its to & fro movements. Job holding Job chucks with Manual Jaws, Pneumatic Jaws or Hydraulic Clamping Jaws can be provided optionally. The mainframes of both units are constructed with structural & plate fabrication precisely machined to maintain the proper level and alignment.
Construction and Technical Details
The mainframes of both units are constructed with structural & plate fabrication precisely machined to maintain the proper level and alignment.
Applications
- Pipe to flange welding
2 Axis and 3 Axis Manipulators
2 Axis or 3 Axis (Head Stock & Tail Stock Type, L- Type, Hydraulic Type) manipulators are specially designed for positioned welding of various jobs. The vertical movement is through lead screw & nut, or Hydraulic. In lift drive, the power is obtained through an A. C. Motor (Prime mover). Further, the speed reduction occurs in a single-stage Gearbox. The Rotary table (Face Plate) has T-slots (4 Nos.) for clamping the Job holding fixture. Limit switches have been provided at the lower end & upper extreme positions.
Head Stock & Tail Stock Type Manipulators
Job holding fixtures can be clamped between rotary tables of headstock and tailstock. The job can be lifted or rotated to get the required position for welding. The lift drive mechanism of both headstock & the tailstock is synchronized i.e. Both motors of the lift mechanism operate simultaneously. But only one operation can be carried out at a time i.e. while rotating job, lift can’t be made & vice versa. A lamp with a buzzer alarm is provided on top of the headstock which works when the machine is under operation (either rotation or lift).
Hydraulic Type Manipulators
The machine is basically a three axes Positioner, with a specific rated load capacity. It is provided with three degrees of freedom, namely- lifting, tilting, and rotation. The machine mainly consists of 2 types of Drive systems – one for Face Plate Rotation and the other one being hydraulic Face Plate Tilt and lift.
Features
- For rotating long weldments
- Fixed Base, Adjustable Base or Geared Elevation Models
- Totally Gear-Safe Design
