    Self Centering Type Welding Rotators

Cubuilt Engineers’ Self Centering Type Welding Rotators are essential equipment for both heavy and light fabrication shops. They are primarily used to rotate or precisely position cylindrical workpieces for circumferential welding (TIG, MIG, Sub Arc) or for assembling intricate components.

    Construction and Design

The construction of Self Centering Type Welding Rotators is similar to that of Conventional Type Welding Rotators, with one key difference:

This model includes a provision to slide the roller brackets over the base frame equally in both directions via a lead screw with left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) threads.

Unlike conventional rotators, the roller brackets are not bolted to the base frame. This allows automatic centering of the workpiece, ensuring balanced rotation and reducing manual adjustments.

Uses of Self Centering Type Welding Rotators

Self Centering Type Welding Rotators are widely used in fabrication industries for rotating and positioning cylindrical workpieces such as pipes, tanks, pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, and storage vessels during welding, assembly, inspection, blasting, and painting operations. Their automatic centering mechanism adjusts the roller position to accommodate varying workpiece diameters without manual intervention, significantly reducing setup time and improving productivity. These rotators help maintain consistent rotation speed and perfect alignment, resulting in superior weld quality and enhanced operator safety. Self Centering Type Welding Rotators are extensively used for MIG, TIG, and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) applications in industries such as oil & gas, power generation, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, wind energy, and heavy engineering, where precision, efficiency, and handling of multiple vessel sizes are critical requirements.
